Homogenized Human
New Zealand has a new tribe of urbanites, living in a land of dystopia. Using Hermione Flynn’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection as a point of departure, Ryan Feilding’s “Homogenized Human” is an exploration into a world where we are mere specimens, living in an urban landscape, both voiceless and nonreactive. Featuring two identically clad characters the film examines their urban wasteland without apology, their relationship with each other distinguished through mirroring, repetition and entangled movements with one another. Born and raised in New Zealand, Fielding graduated with a degree in Film and Media from Victoria University in 2010, channeling his path onto a creative career. Since graduation he has worked on numerous large-scale collaborative film projects, including talented New Zealander fashion designer Hermione Flynn. www.vimeo.com/ryanfielding
